Women's Lacrosse: Raiders clip the Blue Jays, 10-7.

(Nashua, N.H.) The Rivier University Women's Lacrosse Program earned a conference win on the road against the Blue Jays of St. Joseph College (Conn). The win lifts the Raiders to a 2-7 overall record and 2-5 in conference play.  The loss drops the Blue Jays to 2-8 overall and 0-7 in league play.

Right off the bat the Blue Jays took the lead with two quick goals within 30 seconds of each other.  However, the Raiders responded at the 12:27 mark with an unassisted goal by sophomore attacker Colleen Murphy (Hudson, N.H.). A little over a minute later freshman Josie Hastings (West Lebanon, N.H.) equalized with her own unassisted goal.

Before the end of the half Rivier managed to drop three more goals on the home team.  All of which were un assisted.  Two from junior Dzanana Omerovic (Rivere, Mass.) and one from Morghan Linehan (Bedford, N.H.).

The score at half time was 5-2 in favor of the Raiders.

The second half started off with another early goal by the hosts. Omerovic responded again with another goal to separate the two teams by 3 goals.  Thanks to a dish from senior middie Marin Owens

The Raiders went on to score 4 more goals before the final whistle.  While the Raiders were hot, the Blue Jays were always on their tail.  However, the visiting Raiders were just too much to handle tonight.

Next up for the Raiders will be a trip down to Elms College to face the Blazers in a non-conference matchup on Monday at 7:00PM.
