(Nashua, N.H.) The Rivier University Raiders suffered a tough loss tonight on Raider Field against Lasell College, 23-11.

While the Raiders were out paced by the Lasers there were some fantastic goals scored by the home team.

The scoring started with the Lasers just 20 seconds into the game.  Senior Vanessa Pino (Methuen, Mass.) tallied her first goal of the night off a dish from senior Jordan McComb (Cumberland, R.I.).  Minutes later Lasell netted 2 more goals.

Senior Marin Owens (Brookline, N.H.) broke through the Lasers defense and earned the first goal off an assist from Senior Ashley Leal (Tyngsboro, Mass.).  The Raiders bagged two more goals before the Lasers could respond.  One from junior Amanda Barton (Pelham, N.H.) and Ashley Leal. The assists were credited to sophomore Colleen Murphy (Hudson, N.H.) and graduate student Morghan Linehan (Bedford, N.H.).

The Raiders struck 4 more times by the end of the half.  However it just wasn't enough to keep up with the Lasers.  Barton and sophmore Dzenana Omerovic (Revere, Mass.) both tallied 2 goals apiece.

Goalkeepers Courtney Leperriere (Keene, N.H.) of the Raiders and Morgan Choquet (Woonsocket, R.I.) of the Lasers, both denied 7 shots in the first 30 minutes of play.  The first half ended 12-8.

The second half's scoring was led by Owens as she buried two more goals 1 was assisted by Barton and the other was unassisted.  The third and last goal scored by the Raiders was notched by Leal, also unassisted.

Leperriere walked away with a total of 10 saves while Choquet totaled 13.

Next up for the Raiders is a conference matchup against the Blue Jays of St. Joseph College (CT)(2-7 overall, 0-6 GNAC).  The match will be played at Central Connecticutt University in New Britain, C.T. at 5PM on Saturday.  The Lasers will host a conference match against the Cadets of Norwich University (5-5 overall, 3-4 GNAC) at 12PM on Saturday in Newton, Mass.
