(Nashua, N.H.) The Rivier University Women's Lacrosse program lost their first conference match up to the visiting Cadets of Norwich University, 17-4.

The first half was a bit of a back and forth the first half.  Cadet's sophomore Emily Schromm (N. Attleboro, Mass) struck first off of a free position shot at the 25:57 mark.  Junior Amanda Barton (Pelham, N.H.) responded just 25 seconds later with an unassisted goal to tie the game up.

The two teams battled back and forth in the midfield for the next 3 minutes until freshman Kate Winstanley (Lansdale, Pa) netted a free position shot.  Soon after teammate sophomore Missy Preul (Scottsdale, Az) slotted one in without anyones help.

The Raiders retaliated yet again, however this time it was during a man-up situation.  Sophomore Dzenana Omerovic (Revere, Mass) tallied her first goal of the night after connecting with senior Marin Owens (Brookline, N.H.).

Barton found the net again, capitalizing off of a free shot attempt with 10 minutes remaining in the first half.

The half ended 5-3 in favor of the Cadets.

It was second half where the visitors pulled away and never looked back.  Omerovic scored the lone goal in the second half off of a dish from senior Ashley Leal (Tyngsboro, Mass) about half way through the second half.

Cadet's junior goalkeeper Lawson Hayes (Moorestown, N.J.) collected 4 saves tonight, while Raiders goalkeeper Courtney Laperriere (Keene, N.H.) denied 20 shots.
