Women's Lacrosse: Rivier earns GNAC win against Emmanuel, 17-13

(Nashua, N.H.) The Rivier University Women's Lacrosse team earned a Great Northeast Athletic Conference contest this evening to visiting Emmanuel Colege, 17-13 at Raiders Field. The win sends the Raiders to 2-5 in the GNAC and an overall record of 2-7. Emmanuel slides to 2-7 and 2-5 in league play.

Junior Marin Owens (Brookline, NH) led the offensive effort for the Raiders as she scored 4 goals out of 6 shots, tallied 5 assists and snagged 5 ground balls on the evening.  Teammate Dzenana Omerovic (Revere, Mass) tallied 4 goals after taking 10 shots on net. 

Sophomore Amanda Barton (Pelham, NH) dominated the midfield tonight as she scooped up 4 ground balls, and won 7 draw controls.  The midfielder also netted 3 goals after takeing 5 shots.  

Emmanuels was paced by sophomore Allison Hutchings (Billerica, Mass) and freshman Alexandra Ford (Springfield, Mass).  Both of them tallied 3 goals and 1 assist a piece. Junior defender, Andrea Liddell (Weymouth, Mass) led the back field in ground balls as she collected 6 total. 

Junior Goalkeeper Courtney Laperriere (Keene, NH) closed the night 13 saves after dealing with 26 shots on goal.  Laperriere continues to lead the GNAC in total saves with 135 saves.  She has proven to be huge asset to the program as she has secured 2 conference wins in the last 2 games.  

Senior Goalkeeper for the Saints, Stephanie Warn (Hanson, Mass) also made 13 saves after dealing with 30 shots on goal tonight.

Both teams will be back in conference action as the Raiders will face the Blue Jays of University of Saint Joseph (CT) (1-6, 0-6 GNAC) at Raider Field on April 14 at 4PM.  The Saints will host Johnson and Wales University (9-2, 6-0 GNAC) on the same day at 12PM in Boston, Mass.
