Women's Lacrosse: Raiders slashed by Wildcats, 20-2

(Nashua, N.H.) The Rivier University Women's Lacrosse team fell this evening to visiting Johnson and Wales University (R.I.), 20-2 in a Great Northeast Athletic Conference contest held under the lights at a rainy Raider Field. The loss send the Raiders' overall record to 0-7 and they are now 0-5 against league play while the Wildcats remain undefeated in the conference at 5-0 and move to 8-1 overall.

Freshman Gianna Ricco (Hudson, N.H.) netted her first career goal for the Raiders this evening as her shot at 12:35 left to play in the second half was able to get past Wildcat goalie Cassidy O'Hara. The goal came on Ricco's third shot of the season. Junior Dzenana Omerovic (Revere, Mass.) scored the only other Rivier goal as she found the back of the net with 13:11 remaining in the first stanza.

Junior goalkeeper Courtney Laperriere (Keene, N.H.) was outstanding in net as she stopped 18 of the 38 shots she faced on the evening. O'Hara, meanwhile, made five saves on seven shots for the Wildcats.

JWU's offensive attack was highlighted by a five-goal performance from Allison Pazienski, who also added an assist. Marla Patane chipped in with three goals and an assist while both Cat Nolan and Madeline Bishara tallied two-goals apiece.

The Raiders will remain here in Nashua for their next contest which will be on Saturday afternoon as they host Albertus Magnus College in another GNAC contest. Game time is set for 1pm. The Wildcats will also return to GNAC action on Saturday as they host the University of Saint Joseph (Conn.) also beginning at 1pm.
