
Rivier Pushes the Pace 14 -1, Nets GNAC Victory
(Nashua, N.H.) The Rivier Women's Lacrosse team notched a 14 -1 GNAC victory over the University of Saint Joseph (CT) today at home. With the win, the Raiders climb to 5 – 5, 1 – 2 GNAC. With the loss, the Blue Jays fall to 3 – 6, 0 – 4 GNAC. The Raiders powered out to a 9 – 1 lead at halftime and posted a 5 – 0 shutout in the 2nd half.
Rivier was lead on the day by Amanda Wickens (JR, Tyngsboro, MA), 3 goals, 4 assists, 5 shots on goal, and 6 ground balls; Taylor Lirakis (SO, Tewksbury, MA), 5 goals, 10 shots on goal, and 3 ground balls; and Catherine Connolly (SO, Nashua, NH), 3 goals, 1 assist, 5 shots on goal, and 4 ground balls. In goal, Courtney Laperriere (FR, Keene, NH) earned the win with 6 saves.
Saint Joseph was paced by Rose St. Hillaire (FR, West Hartford, CT), 1 goal, 4 shots on goal, and 2 ground balls. The visiting Blue Jays were backstopped by 19 saves from Emily Bourassa (SO, Bristol, CT).
Next up for the Raiders is a home game tomorrow at 1:00 pm versus Albertus Magnus College in a GNAC match-up. Saint Joseph returns to action on the 12th when they travel to Albertus Magnus College as well.
