Bio

Hugh Murphy enters his third season on the Raider’s women’s ice hockey staff as the skills and development coach in 2023.  

From 1992 to 1996, Murphy was a regional assistant for Robby Glantz Power Skating. 

Murphy was a two-time member of the ACHA National Hockey Tournament teams in 1995 and 1996.  

Through 2002-04, Murphy was the skills and development coach for the San Jose Sharks high school league.  

Staring in 2022, Murphy earned the title of lead instructor for the San Jose Adult hockey program. He continued this role up until 2021.  

Through 2005-06, Murphy was the skills coach for U16AAA San Jose Junior Sharks. From 2010-11, he moved to U10AAA San Jose Junior Sharks skills coach. Murphy continued with the San Jose Junior Sharks from 2020-21 as the skills coach for the U15AAA program.  

While not with the Raiders, Murphy continues to coach and develop ice hockey athletes at various locations. He teaches at workshops, such as the Daryl Belfry’s Coaching Workshop in 2022 and the Coaches Site TCS Live Coaching Symposium in 2023.
