Grumblatt Selected as NEWBA Player of the Week

NORTHAMPTON, Mass. – After being named the Great Northeast Athletic Conference's (GNAC) Player of the Week on Monday, Rivier women's basketball graduate student Lyric Grumblatt was selected as the Player of the Week for the New England Women's Basketball Association (NEWBA) on Tuesday. This marks the second time this season that Grumblatt has been bestowed the regional honor.

During a combined 72 points in a 1-1 week for the Raiders, the Manchester, N.H. native averaged 36.0 points, 9.0 rebounds, and 4.0 steals per game. On Wednesday, Jan. 29, she posted another career night by scoring 46 points, the most in a single game in her career, in an 83-64 win over Lasell. She added 26 points and 11 rebounds on Saturday when the Raiders narrowly fell at JWU (Providence).

Grumblatt and the Raiders defeated Saint Joseph's (Me.) on Tuesday, Feb. 4 in a road matchup with the Monks and will return to the Muldoon Center to host Regis (Mass.) on Saturday, Feb. 8 at noon as the team celebrates National Girls & Women in Sports Day.
