Women's Basketball: Raiders downed by Monks, 105-68

(Nashua, N.H.) The Rivier University Women's Basketball team suffered a 105-68 setback this evening to visiting Saint Joseph's College (Maine) in a Great Northeast Athletic Conference contest inside the Muldoon Gymnasium. The Raiders are now 3-15 overall on the season with a 1-7 mark against the conference while the defending GNAC champions remain unblemished at 20-0 overall, 8-0 against league play.

The Raiders were led by senior Kaylee Kacavas (Dracut, Mass.) who finished with 30 points on 11-of-19 shooting from the floor. Classmate Elizabeth Meehan (Nashua, N.H.) recorded a double-double with 12 points and 10 assists while fellow senior Megan Hamel (Colebrook, N.H.) finished with 17 points and seven rebounds in the loss.

Senior Hannah Marks (Waldoboro, Maine) used 22 first half points to register a team-high of 24. Classmate Julia Champagne (Brunswick, Maine) chipped in with 16 points and fellow senior Kelsi McNamara (West Newbury, Mass.) added 12 points as did senior Emily Benway (Rochester, N.H.).

Both squads will be back in conference action on Saturday afternoon as the Raiders travel to Regis College for a 3:30pm tipoff while the Monks travel to Johnson & Wales University for an 11am contest.
