Women's Basketball: Kaylee Kacavas named 2nd Team All-GNAC

(Winthrop, Mass.) Rivier University's Kaylee Kacavas has been selected to the 2017-2018 Great Northeast Athletic Conference Women's Basketball All-Conference Second Team, as announced by the conference office earlier today. She becomes just the 8th Raider in the 20-year history of the GNAC to be named to the conference's All-Conference team. Kacavas is also just the 5th member of the Women's Basketball program to be named to the second team, the last being both Savanna Butterfield '17 and Caitlyn Perry '17 following the 2015-2016 season.

Kacavas, a Dracut, Massachusetts native, finished the regular season with a team-best and league-best 21.8 points per game. The 5-foot-8 guard earned three double-doubles on the campaign and reached the double-figure scoring mark in 15 of her 17 games played. As a junior, she notched 12 games of 20+ points including a season-high 34 point effort in the team's 69-49 win at Anna Maria.

Sophomore Lizzy Meehan (Nashua, N.H.) was chosen to represent the Raiders on the All-Sportsmanship team, which was established to honor one student-athlete from each team in the conference for outstanding dedication to sportsmanship and for their portrayal of good sportsmanship, fair play and positive attitude. In fact, as a team, the Raiders were selected as the recipient of the Conference's Institutional Sportsmanship Award.
