Women's Basketball: Raiders can't top Mount Ida, 76-56

(Nashua, N.H.) The Rivier University Women's Basketball team fell to visiting Mount Ida College, 76-56 this evening in a Great Northeast Athletic Conference contest inside the Muldoon Gymnasium. The Raiders are now 0-12 on the season with a 0-8 conference mark. The Mustangs climb to 10-6 overall, 3-4 in the GNAC.

Rivier senior Emilee Kacavas (Dracut, Mass.) registered a double-double with 16 points & 16 rebounds to lead the way while junior Megan Hamel (Colebrook, N.H.) pulled down 11 rebounds and added seven points. Sophomore Lizzy Meehan (Nashua, N.H.) also chipped in with nine points for the Raiders.

Mount Ida's offensive attack was paced by sophomore Valerie Martin (Derry, N.H.) who scored the game-high of 21 points and eight rebounds. Senior Patricia Liotta (Hampton Bays, N.Y.) was a perfect 4-for-4 from beyond the arc on her way to 19 points and classmate Breanna Muir (Wareham, Mass.) collected nine points while dishing out seven assists in the win. .

Next up for the Raiders will be another GNAC tilt on Thursday night as they travel to Boston, Mass. for a 5pm tipoff against Emmanuel College. Mount Ida will also be back in conference action on Thursday as they host Simmons beginning at 5pm.
