Women's Basketball: Raiders stumble against Norwich, fall 51-35

(Nashua, N.H.) The Rivier University Women's Basketball team fell this afternoon to visiting Norwich University, 51-35 in Great Northeast Athletic Conference action inside the Muldoon Gymnasium. Rivier is now 0-11 overall on the season with a 0-7 mark in the conference while Norwich improves to 6-8, 3-4 GNAC.

Junior Kaylee Kacavas (Dracut, Mass.) led the way offensively for Rivier as she totaled 11 points. Classmate Megan Hamel (Colebrook, N.H.) pulled down a game-high 14 rebounds and added seven points of her own. Sophomore Lizzy Meehan (Nashua, N.H.) chipped in with eight points and nine rebounds in a reserve effort.

Norwich senior Arianna Harrison (Vernon, Vt.) was the driving force for the Cadets as she recorded a double-double of 17 points, game-high, and 11 rebounds. Senior Shyann Josler (Thetford Center, Vt.) added 15 points while junior Vanessa Fleury (Lebanon, N.H.) collected five rebounds and six points.

Both teams return to conference action on Tuesday night. Rivier will host Mount Ida College; tipoff is scheduled for 7pm, while Norwich will host Emmanuel at 7:30pm.
