Women's Basketball: Hamel, Raiders fall at Saint Joseph's (Me.)

(Standish, Maine) The Rivier University Women's Basketball team dropped a tough road Great Northeast Athletic Conference contest this afternoon at Saint Joseph's College of Maine, 102-17. The loss sends the Raiders to 0-6 on the season and 0-2 in the conference while the Monks improve to 7-1 overall, 2-0 GNAC.

Senior Emilee Kacavas (Dracut, Mass.) led the team with nine points and six rebounds while junior Megan Hamel (Colebrook, N.H.) added seven points and six rebounds of her own. Sophomore Keara Sheehan (Chelmsford, Mass.) recorded one point to account for all of the Rivier scoring.

Kelsi McNamara paced the Saint Joseph's offense as she finished with 19 points and Emily Benway chipped in with 14 points as each played less than 20 minutes. Grace Mulvey and Jordan Jabar added 13 and 11 points, respectively, in reserve efforts. Jabar finished with a double-double of 11 points & 16 rebounds.

This was the final game of the first semester for the Raiders as they will return to action in 2018 with another road GNAC contest on January 6th at Mount Ida College.
