Women's Basketball: Buterfield's 2nd Triple-Double sends Rivier past Lasell

(Nashua, N.H.) The Rivier University Women's Basketball team received a triple-double performance from senior Savanna Butterfield (Londonderry, N.H.) as they rolled to their third straight win this evening with a 76-54 Great Northeast Athletic Conference final over visiting Lasell College inside the friendly confines of the Muldoon Gymnasium. The win propels the Raiders to 8-12 overall and 5-7 in the GNAC while the Lasers stumble to 2-10 GNAC.

Butterfield was electric early on as she dished out six assists within the first 12 minutes of the game. She finished with 11 points, 13 rebounds and 12 assists for her second career triple-double and second of the season. Senior Rebecca DeBaldo (Pelham, N.H.) also shined bright as she collected a double-double with 19 points and 13 rebounds while classmate Caitlyn Perry (Nashua, N.H.) added 13 points of her own. Sophomore Kaylee Kacavas (Dracut, Mass.) was the game-high scorer with 22 points on 9-for-13 shooting from the floor.

Freshman Dana Ross (East Haven, Conn.) was the leading point scorer for the Lasers as she collected her own double-double with 12 points and 13 rebounds – both team-highs. Junior Morgan Church (New London, N.H.) totaled nine points and seven rebounds while sophomore Jamie Caron (Derry, N.H.) finished with eight points. Junior Brianna Hoffman (Milford, N.H.) added nine points in a reserve effort for Lasell.

Next up for the Raiders will be another tough conference battle as they host Johnson & Wales University (R.I.) on Tuesday night. Lasell will also be back in action on Tuesday evening as they host Anna Maria College. Both game times are set for 7pm.
