Women's Basketball: Bulger's 38-point effort guides Raiders past Pine Manor

(Nashua, N.H.) Senior Caitlin Bulger (Quincy, Mass.) drained seven three-point attempts on her way to 38 points as the Rivier University Women's Basketball team defeated visiting Pine Manor College, 93-75 in front a vociferous crown at the Muldoon Gymnasium. The win improves the Raiders' overall record to 6-12 while the Gators stumble to 7-12 on the season.

Bulger was lights out all night as she shot 13-for-20 from the floor and knocked down seven from beyond the arc while dishing out eight assists. Also netting double-digit points on the night were sophomore Kaylee Kacavas (Dracut, Mass.) and senior Savanna Butterfield (Londonderry, N.H.) who recorded 22 and 14, respectively. Butterfield finished with 10 rebounds for her sixth double-double of the season. Freshman Cali Swormsedt (Laconia, N.H.) finished with seven points in a reserve effort for the Raiders and sophomore Megan Hamel (Colebrook, N.H.) pulled down eight rebounds.

On the other side of the court, the Gators were led by junior Erica Jones (Atlanta, Ga.) who finished with 25 points and sophomore Taylor Ingram-Martin (Merritt Island, Fla.) who contributed 22 points. Both senior Tiana Jordan (Boston, Mass.) and junior Shaquanda Middleton (Savannah, Ga.) recorded double-digit rebounds with 13 and 10.

Rivier will return to Great Northeast Athletic Conference action on Thursday night when they host Simmons College at 7pm. Pine Manor will also return to action on Thursday as they host Vermont Technical College.
