Saint Joseph's kicked off the scoring with two runs off a hit and an error in the bottom of the second, as senior first baseman Melodie Bailey (Lebanon, Maine) walked and later crossed the plate on an infield miscue and junior third baseman Kaylee Burns(Saco, Maine) scored on a Madeline Wood (Madison, Maine) base knock.

Rivier cut the SJC lead in half in the top of the third, when freshman Sara Mainville (Lowell, Mass.) doubled and eventually scored on a Kasey Smith (Hopkinton, N.H.) sac fly to center field.

The Monks closed out the game scoring with single runs in the fourth and fifth innings, as sophomore Megan Eagleston (Reading, Mass.) notched an RBI single in the former and Bailey roped a run-scoring double in the latter to account for the 4-1 final.

Rivier junior pitcher Taylor Rowsell (Chelmsford, Mass.) falls to 1-4 after yielding four runs (one earned) off four hits and three walks while fanning four in six innings.

SJC junior pitcher Kate Whitney (Jonesboro, Maine) improves to 4-5 on the season after giving up a run on just three hits with a pair of K's in a complete game performance.
