Game One: Dean College 8, Rivier University 6 (Final)

With the bases loaded in the bottom of the seventh, the Raiders couldn't get that key hit as they fell in the opener to Dean College, 8-6.

Rivier combined for 13 hits led by a pair of three-hit games from senior Mikayla Ramsdell (Salem, N.H.) and junior Kasey Smith (Hopkinton, N.H.). Ramsdell finished 3-for-5 with a run scored while Smith was also 3-for-5 however with a RBI and two stolen bases. Freshman Nicole Capra (Lowell, Mass.) also recroded a multi-hit game as she went 2-for-4 with three runs scored and sophomore Katie Welch (Wilmington, Mass.) added a pair of RBI on her 1-for-2 afternoon at the dish.

Junior Taylor Rowsell (Chelmsford, Mass.) took the loss inside the circle as she pitched six innings allowing seven runs (six earned) on ten hits while striking out three. Freshman Sydney Greeno (Shirley, Mass.) spun the seventh and allowed one run on one hit while striking out one.

The Bulldogs were led by leadoff hitter Miranda Seacord who went 2-for-4 with two runs scored and three RBI. Madisyn Butler also picked up a pair of hits as she finished 2-for-3 with two runs scored and a RBI while every hitter in the Dean batting order recorded at least one hit. Shelby Smith earned the win with a complete game effort surrendering six runs (four earned) on thirteen hits and striking out five.

Game Two: Rivier University 13, Dean College 5 (Final)

After allowing the Bulldogs to plate three runs in the opening frame, the Raiders stormed back and scored seven runs over the next two innings on their way to salvaging a split of the non-conference double-header.

Ramsdell continued her hot hitting as she laced a double and a triple to finish 2-for-5 with two RBI. Smith once again set the table as she went 3-for-5 with two runs scored and two stolen bases while sophomore Julia Dailey (Dracut, Mass.) chipped in with a 2-for-4, three runs scored performance in the nightcap. Freshmen Hunter Greenleaf (Scarborough, Maine) and Katerina St. Angelo (Johnston, R.I.) also contributed with two-hit games and Rowsell wrapped up her day with a monsterous 3-for-4, two doubles and five RBI night at the dish.

That would be more than enough for sophomore Kellie Kennedy (Hudson, N.H.) who went the distance in earning her first win of the season. The right-hander tossed all seven innings allowing five runs (all earned) on five hits while striking out 14.

Dean's Ali Nelson suffered the loss with a complete game effort allowing 13 runs on 16 hits while striking out six. Bridget McDonough went 2-for-3 with two RBI and Courtney Holden added a RBI base hit in the loss.
