Softball: Raiders fall short in second match against the Cougars, 2-1.

WHAT HAPPENED 

Both programs traded off a few hits through the 5th inning, none of which led to any runs.  However, at the top of the 6th freshman Hunter (Greenleaf Scarborough, Me.) doubled. Freshman Sarah McCluskey (Lowell, Mass.) pinch ran in her place. Finally, senior Mikayla Ramsdell (Salem, N.H.) ripped a double sending McCluskey home and that was the first run of the game. In the same inning freshman Nicole Capra (Lowell, Mass.) walked, then wounded up stealing second before freshman Micayla Bourski (Pawtucket, R.I.) grounded out at third base.  

In the bottom of the seventh inning the Cougars struck back.  Cougars sophomore Caitlin Worwood (Caldwell, Idaho) singled and sent freshman teammate Fiona Danahy (Buffalo, N.Y.) home for an unearned run. The game was tied up at 1-1. 

It was at the bottom of the 8th inning when freshman Alyson Adams (Altoona, Pa) singled.  Then junior Katie McClelland (Stoneboro, Pa.) reached first on an by senior Casey Smith (Hopkinton, N.H.) error. Adams scored an unearned run finishing the game up at 2-1 in favor of the Cougars.
