Men’s Volleyball Downs Colby-Sawyer
NASHUA, NH: The Rivier men's volleyball team defeated Colby-Sawyer in three straight sets this evening during conference action.
THE BASICS:

- Score: Rivier 3, Colby-Sawyer 0: Sets (25-11, 25-19, 25-23)
- Records: Rivier (5-6, 4-1 GNAC), Colby-Sawyer (1-9, 0-5 GNAC)
HOW IT HAPPENED:
- Sets one and two were dominated by David Smith (Clinton, OH). He racked up 10 kills with just two errors for an impressive .421 hitting percentage through two sets. Colby-Sawyer did hold the lead in the second set, but a huge run on the serve by senior Pedro Campos (Downey, CA) erased the deficit and put the Raiders on top.
- Ethan Soltis (Massillon, OH) and Thomas Miller (Clifton Park, NY) help Rivier come back in set three while being behind until Colby-Sawyer led 20-17. Soltis ended with six kills and Miller with five.
- Orlando Plagata put in a solid offensive performance for the Chargers, diving all over the court to keep rallies alive. He led his team in kills with eight kills on the evening.
INSIDE THE NUMBERS:
- Smith finished with 10 kills and three digs.
- Campos had three kills, three service aces, and 24 assists.
- Plagata ended with eight kills and three digs.
