Men's Volleyball: Raiders Earn Two Conference Wins, 3-0 & 3-1.

Game One: Rivier University 3 vs. Lasell College 0

(Nashua, N.H.) The Rivier University Raiders swept the Lasers of Lasell College this afternoon in the first of two conference matches on the day.  The Raiders found themselves victorious after going toe-to-toe with the Lasers and earned themselves a conference win that lifts their overall record to 15-7 and 6-0 in conference play.  The loss drops the Lasers to 12-12, 6-4 GNAC.

Junior David Smith (Clinton, Ohio) led the Raiders with a total of 18.5 points.  The outside hitter tallied 15 kills on 24 attempts, he also collected 3 aces, hitting at .500.  

Junior Francis Kokoros (Braintree, Mass.) dropped 10 kills out of 18 attempts hitting at .444. 

Upperclassmen Dashuan Graham (Highland Falls, N.Y.) and Khaynen Yocca (Pittsburgh, Pa.) tallied 7 kills apiece. 

Junior setter Pedro Campos (Downey, Calif.) hooked his teammates up with 35 scoring opportunities.  He also demonstrated some strong defense tallying 10 digs.

 

Game Two: Rivier University 3 vs. Emerson 1

The Raiders dropped the second set against the Lions, however made sure to not make the same mistake twice. 

The scores were 25-19, 21-25, 25-18 & 25-22.

Point Leaders included Rookie Jack Normandin (Clifton Park, N.Y.) racked up 14 kills on 28 attempts hitting at .357.  He also collected 6 digs and 2 blocks.

Behind Normandin was David Smith (Clinton, Ohio) with 8 kills on 12 attempts. He hit at an efficient .667.

Freshman Kristjan Cortez (Fremont, Calif.) put up some great numbers hitting at .417 after tallying 7 kills on 12 attempts.

Junior John Equitani (Coventry, RI) put down 5 kills on 8 attempts hitting at .375.

Freshman Sokunbuth Ly (Lowell, Mass.) collected 3 kills and 4 digs.

Setter Eric Roderick (Salem, N.H.) and Pedro Campos (Downey, Calif.) dealt out 20 assists a piece as well as 1 kill apiece.

Next up for the Raiders will be a trip to New London, N.H. to face Colby-Sawyer College on Saturday at 7:00PM.  As for the Lions of Emerson College, they'll take a trip down to Providence, R.I. to face Johnson and Wales University at 7:00PM on Saturday.
