Men's Volleyball: Raiders fall to Kingsmen, 3-1.

(Nashua, N.H.) The Rivier University Men's Volley suffered a loss against California Lutheran University, 3-1 in the last match of the Cal-Lu-Fornia Invitational.  

The Raiders certainly had their hands full with the west coast juggernauts.  However, they didn't go down without a fight.  The Raiders lost by a 10-point margin in the first set, then got even in the second set topping the hosts 25-18.  The second and third the giants woke back up and pulled off two wins by scores of 15-25 and 18-25.

Senior Francis Kokoros (Braintree, Mass.) hit at .300 after tallying 11 kills off 20 attempts. 

Junior David Smith (Clinton, Ohio) also had a good showing dropping 9 kills, 4 digs and a block assist.

Rookie Jack Normandin (Clifton Park, N.Y.) was just behind Smith with 7 kills, 3 digs and an assist.

Junior Pedro Campos (Downey, Calif.) handed out an astonishing 33 assists and showed some defense with 5 digs.

It was Junior Libero Cam Roth (Coventry, R.I.) who led the defense with 10 digs while also contributing to the offense by dishing out 2 assists.

The loss drops the Raiders to a 12-7 overall record and went 3-1 at the invitational.  The Raiders will return to the east coast well prepared as they face Wentworth Institute of Technology on Saturday, March 16th in Boston, Massachusetts at 6:00PM.
