(Nashua, N.H.) The Rivier University Athletics Department is proud to announce juniors Cam Roth (Coventry, R.I.) and David Smith (Clinton, OH) have been selected Defensive Player of the Week and Offensive Player of the week in the 9th week of competition. 

Roth was the foundation on defense for Rivier propelling the Raiders to 2 more GNAC wins on the season. The junior libero averaged 4.00 digs/set to help Rivier to a 3-0 sweep over Lasell and a 3-1 win against Emerson. Roth highlighted his week with 11 digs in just 2 sets played in the win against Emerson College. 

Roth also leads the conference in Digs and Digs Per Set with 241 at 3.05.  

Smith was dominant in GNAC play as the Raiders went 2-0, averaging 4.60 kills, 2.00 digs, 0.60 aces and 0.40 blocks per set while hitting at an impressive .556 clip. The junior outside hitter had a team-high 15 kills (.500) in a 3-0 sweep of Lasell College then followed that with an eight-kill (.667) performance in just two sets played in a win against Emerson College. 

Smith leads the Raiders with 229 kills at 2.97 kills per set.  

The Raiders have earned eight of the last nine Offensive Player of the Week honors.  Smith has claimed 3 of them.  This is Roth's 2nd time claiming Defensive Player of the Week.
