Men's Volleyball: Raiders top Adrian College in sunny California, 3-1

(Nashua, N.H.) The Rivier University Men's Volleyball team took a trip out to Thousand Oaks, California this spring break!  In between catching rays and sight seeing they compteted in the 4th annual Cal-Lu-Fornia Invitational.  The first match of four was against Adrian College (Adrian, Mich.)

The first set was neck and neck until freshmen Tedrick Gula (San Gabriel, Cali) took control and ended the first set in favor of the Bulldogs 25-19. 

However it was the remaining sets where the Raiders shook the sand off and took the game over. The remaining sets scores were 25-20, 25-23 and 25-17. 

Junior David Smith (Clinton, Ohio) hit .382 with 18 kills and collected 8 digs.  Both senior Dashaun Graham (Highland Falls, N.Y.) and Jack Normandin (Clifton Park, N.Y.) tallied 8 kills apiece.  Other contributors on the offensive side were junior Francis Kokoros (Braintree, Mass)  who hit .312 with 15 kills.  Senior Khaynen Yocca (Pittsburgh, Pa) hit an astounding .625 with 10 kills on 16 attempts. 

On the defensive side, Cam Roth (Coventry, R.I) came up with 19 digs, while Kokoros came up with 7 of his own along with 3 blocks.  Deshaun also contributed 4 blocks.
