Men's Volleyball: Raiders fall to Wells College Express 3-2

(Nashua, N.H.)  It was a tale of two teams who both faced No. 1 ranked Springfield College Pride in a tri-match that spanned over 7 hours today.  The Rivier University Raiders and the Wells College Express first battled the Pride in the 3 game series and neither came out with a victory. It was about 7:30PM when the smoke cleared and the 3rd match was over.  The Express walked away with a well-fought 3-2 victory over the Raiders.

Sophmore Caden O'Laughlin (Louisville, K.Y.) tallied 19 kills and scooped up 10 digs for a team high of 19.5 points.  While teammate sophomore Josh Undari (Manor Park, N.Y.) contributed 5 kills, 6 digs and 48 assists.  

The Raiders showed a strong collective effort. Senior Dashaun Graham (Highland Falls, N.Y) and freshmen Jack Normandin (Clifton Park, N.Y.) tallied 7 kills a piece.

Junior John Equitani (Coventry, R.I.) chipped in with 4 kills with just 1 error on 8 attempts.  Equitani is tied for 2nd in the GNAC with 8.1 blocks per set. His teammate junior Cam Roth (Coventry, R.I.) walked away with an impressive 14 digs.  The outside hitter now leads the GNAC with 119 digs after tonights performances. 

Freshman Sokunbuth Ly (Lowell, Mass) hit .375, had 8 kills, 3 digs and 3 block assists.  The rookie averages a .231 hitting percentage placing him among the top 15 leaders in that department.

Junior David Smith (Clinton, O.H.) hit .372 with a team-best 22 kills.

Junior Pedro Campos (Downey, C.A.) dished out 51 assists and collected 12 digs.  Campos still sits at the No. 1 spot in the GNAC for assists per set at 9.98.

The Raiders will now head to Springfield, Mass. on Tuesday, February 26, to seek retribution against Springfield College at 7PM.  Wells can be found at the same time and date as they will travel to Daemen College in Amherst, N.Y.
