By: Anthony Perry, Rivier University Sports Information Director

(Winthrop, Mass.) For the second consecutive week, two Rivier University student-athletes were tabbed as the Great Northeast Athletic Conference Men's Volleyball Players of the Week. Junior Pedro Campos (Downey, Calif.) garners his second straight GNAC Offensive Player of the Week award while freshman Jack Normandin (Clifton Park, N.Y.) received his first conference honor of his young career.

Campos spearheaded the Rivier offense to another great week, helping the Raiders to three more wins and extending their winning streak to six. Rivier hit for a .411 percentage with the junior setter directing the offense, averaging 11.00 assists per set, which included a 35-assist performance in a 3-0 sweep over John Jay College. The Downey, California native also averaged 1.20 digs and 1.00 blocks per set on the unblemished week.

Normandin took advantage of his first starts of his career and came through in a big way, averaging 3.13 kills per set with a .400 hitting percentage to help lead Rivier the perfect 3-0 week in non-conference play. The first-year also chipped in with 1.25 digs and 0.50 service aces per set for the Navy Blue and White.

Campos, Normandin and the rest of the Men's Volleyball team will return to action on Wednesday night as they host Regis College in a GNAC matchup. Game time is slated for 7pm at the Muldoon.
