Men's Volleyball: Bucklin, Graham named GNAC Players of the Week

(Winthrop, Mass.) The Great Northeast Athletic Conference announced earlier this afternoon that senior Garrett Bucklin (Jamestown, R.I.) and junior Dashaun Graham (Highland Falls, N.Y.) have been selected as the conference's Players of the Week for Men's Volleyball, presented by Corvias. This is the second time in three weeks that both Bucklin and Graham received weekly honors from the conference as they were also named Players of the Week back on January 27th.

Graham was chosen as the Offensive Player of the Week as he averaged 3.00 kills per set on a .511 hitting percentage to help the Raiders to a 3-0 week (all sweeps), including an impressive road win at #11 Wentworth. The junior posted eight kills on 13 attempts (.538) in a straight set victory at Johnson & Wales University before hitting .444 en route to eight kills in the three-set sweep over the defending two-time GNAC Champion Wentworth. He capped off the week with 10 kills on just 16 swings (.563) in the team's 3-0 win over Wells College. Graham was also a force at the net, averaging a stellar 1.44 blocks per set.

Bucklin was just as instrumental in the impressive week for the Raiders as the senior setter averaged 2.44 digs and 1.22 blocks per set on the defensive end. He had nine digs and six blocks in the team's 3-0 win at Johnson & Wales while picking up 10 digs against Wells. On the offensive side of the ball, Bucklin averaged 12.2 assists per set directing the Rivier offense to a .345 team hitting percentage on the week.

Back on January 27th, Bucklin was named the GNAC Offensive Player of the Week and Graham was tabbed as the Defensive Player of the Week.

The Raiders return to action on Thursday night as they host Elms College. Game time is set for 7pm.
