Men's Volleyball: Graham powers Rivier past Wells, 3-0

(Nashua, N.H.) The Rivier University Men's Volleyball team earned their third win in a row this morning as they defeated visiting Wells College, 3-0 in a non-conference match inside the Muldoon Gymnasium. With the win, the Raiders are now 8-5 overall on the season while the Express fall to 7-4.

The Raiders were victorious by set scores of 25-19, 25-18 and 25-23.

Junior Dashaun Graham (Highland Falls, N.Y.) remains red hot as he accumulated a .562 hitting percentage with 10 kills while also contributing with four total blocks. Classmate Khayen Yocca (Pittsburgh, Pa.) was just as outstanding with a .643 hitting percentage on 9 kills and sophomore David Smith (Clinton, Ohio) added nine kills of his own in the win. Directing the offense was senior setter Garrett Bucklin (Jamestown, R.I.) who dished out 33 assists and leading the team with 10 digs. Junior Dahnny Rogers (Penfield, N.Y.) also played well along the backline as he picked up eight digs for Rivier.

Wells, who swept Regis College last night, was led by senior Brannon Perdicho (Victor, N.Y.) who hammered down 11 kills and sophomore Caden O'Loughlin (Louisville, Ky.) provided additional support with eight kills. Sophomore setter Josh Undari (Manor Park, N.Y.) handed out 18 helpers to go with his nine digs and senior Mike Hartman (Swoyersville, Pa.) scooped up 10 digs in the loss.

Rivier will return to action on Thursday night as they host Elms College beginning at 7pm. The two teams matched up earlier this season at the SUNY Polytechnic Invitational where the Blazers swept the Raiders in straight sets. Wells will return to action on Friday afternoon as they battle Nazareth and Johnson & Wales University (R.I.) in a non-conference tri-match starting at 2pm.
