Men's Volleyball take down Falcons 3-0

(Boston, Mass.) The Rivier Men's Volleyball team defeated Albertus Magnus College this afternoon by the score of 3 sets to 0 at Jean Yawkey Center. With the win, the Raiders improve their season record to 14-9 with an impressive (9-1 GNAC) record. As for the Falcons of Albertus Magnus College, they drop their season record to 3-12 (2-9 GNAC).

This was a rather dominant victory for the Raiders through and through. Rivier was simply better than the Falcons in virtually every aspect of the game. Offensively, the Raiders worked as a unit, and did a very good job at communicating and positioning themselves properly. On the defensive side of the ball, the Raiders were constantly moving and getting themselves into position to make a play on the ball. As a result of their efforts, Rivier was able to win each set by at least 8 points.

In the first set, the Raiders were able to dismantle the Falcons by an impressive score of 25-17. The next set was just as dominant for the Raiders. Although the scoreboard ended in exactly the same score as the first set, the Raiders were noticeably getting better as a unit as the game progressed. The third set was where the Raiders really took the game to the Falcons. With a 25-11 set victory, the Raiders were able to seal themselves their ninth GNAC victory of the season, and their fourteenth overall.

Rivier had great performances turned in by Ian Wolski (Westfield, Mass.) who was able to lead the Raiders with an impressive 15 kills on the afternoon. Rivier also had a great game turned in by Mike Hadder (Yucaipa, Calif.) who was able to record an additional 13 kills for the Raiders. Matt Lasance (Madison, Conn.) stepped in perfectly for the usual Tyler Blank (Rochester, N.Y.) as he was able to tally 43 key assists.
