(Nashua, NH – Muldoon Gymnasium) The #1 seed Rivier University Raiders (28 – 6, 16 – 1 GNAC) got the job done tonight versus the #5 seed Lasell College Lasers (20 – 11, 8 – 9 GNAC) in a tight 3 set sweep with 31 – 29, 25 – 23, and 26 – 24 score lines. With the win the Raiders advance to Saturday's GNAC Final.
Rivier was paced by junior Chris Markuson (Cupertino, California) with 16 kills; senior Terence Matatall (Danville, NH) with 11 kills; senior Aaron Almario (Alhambria, California) with 10 kills; and senior Matt Bynon (Burnt Hills, NY) with 9 digs.
The visiting Lasers were led by Jeff Vautrin (Sophomore – Chicopee, MA) with 11 kills and 5 digs; Dan Raffol (Junior – Natick, MA) with 8 kills; and Ryan Jackson (Sophomore – Massillon, OH) with 5 digs.
The #1 seed Raiders will play the #3 seed Emmanuel College Saints in the GNAC Final this Saturday, April 12th at 1:00 pm at Rivier's Muldoon Gymnasium with the winner securing the automatic bid to the NCAA National Tournament.
