Bynon, Blank earn GNAC Weekly Honors

(Boston, Mass.) The Great Northeast Athletic Conference announced earlier this afternoon that Rivier University Men's Volleyball senior Matt Bynon and freshman Tyler Blank have earned the conference's weekly honors.

A native of Burnt Hills, New York, Bynon was named the GNAC Defensive Player of the Week for the fourth time this season. He once again was the foundation of the Raiders defense scooping up 28 digs on the week for a 2.80 digs per set average. In Rivier's second match of the week against Ramapo, the senior libero recorded his 1,000th dig as he became just the 2nd Raider in program history to reach the milestone.

Blank once again was outstanding for Rivier as the director of the Raiders' offense. The 6-0 first year setter registered 100 assists and a 10.0 assist per set average while helping out with 19 digs, five blocks and three service aces on the week. The Rochester, New York native saved his best for last with a 43 assist, 10.75 assist per set average, eight dig performance in a 3-1 win against Endicott College. This was Blank's fourth time being named GNAC Rookie of the Week.

The Men's Volleyball team is currently on the West Coast as they embark on a California Spring Break road trip with games against Endicott and UC-Santa Cruz.
