Markuson named GNAC Rookie of the Week

First year player Chris Markuson was named the GNAC Rookie of the Week after helping to lead the 10th ranked Raiders to a perfect 3-0 week.

The Cupertino California native registered 35 kills, 16 digs, and 9 blocks for the week highlighted by a 9 kill - 6 dig effort in a 3-0 conference win over Albertus Magnus College to help Rivier remain undefeated in conference play. The 6'5" outside hitter led all hitters with 14 kills and 3 ace serves in a 3-0 sweep of New Jersey City University and then capped off the week with a 12 kills – 7 dig performance in a 3-1 win against #11 Vassar College.

Markuson, who is receiving his first GNAC Rookie of the Week award of the season, currently leads the Raiders in kills/set and points/set.
