(Nashua, NH) Rivier began their weekend at the Baruch tournament with a loss as they fell to Steven's College 3 set to 1.
The Raiders ( 7-3 overall, 4-0 GNAC) started off hot winning the first set 25-20 behind the strong play by Steven Couslon (Huntington Beach, CA) who had 7 kills and swung for a kill% of .462. Junior Steve Visentin also had a good performance with 39 assists and 6 digs.
The Ducks (10-1 overall, 8-1 CSCAA) rallied together after dropping the first set and went on to win three straight to send the Raiders packing. Freshmen Ian Tyger (York, Pa) led the attack and had a team high 14 kills. Defencivly Kevin Aeckerle (Henrietta, N.Y.) led the team with 6 digs and also led in assists with 28
The Baruch tournament will continue as the Raiders will move on to play the host Baruch later in the day at 4 pm and the Ducks will continue their day by facing Emmanuel College later on.
