NASHUA, N.H. – The Rivier men's soccer team celebrated Senior Day by defeating Great Northeast Athletic Conference (GNAC) rival, Dean, by a final of 3-1 on Saturday afternoon at Merrill Field.

This victory marked Rivier's first win over Dean in program history, ending a four-game losing streak against the Bulldogs. With the win, Rivier improved to 5-4-4 overall (3-3-3 GNAC), while Dean dropped to 3-8-1 (2-6-1 GNAC).

The Raiders struck early, with senior Jason Harlow scoring in the second minute from a deflected shot from classmate Hayden Bilodeau, who was set up by fellow senior Jose Ochoa's cross.

Dean responded in the 25th minute, netting an equalizing goal to level the score.

Rivier regained the lead just before halftime as sophomore Jayden Medlin won the ball, then rifled a shot from outside the box that sailed into the top right corner, giving the Raiders a 2-1 advantage at the break.

The Raiders added to their lead in the 77th minute when senior Jonathan Rudy powered through the Dean defense and finished a pass from graduate student Thomas Hennessey to seal the 3-1 victory.

The Raiders outshot the Bulldogs, 22-11, with six shots landing on goal. Sophomore goalkeeper Logan Clough recorded five saves in the contest for Rivier.

The Raiders look to build on the momentum in a conference matchup against Elms on Tuesday, Oct. 15 at Leary Field. Kickoff is set for 7:00 p.m.
