NASHUA, N.H. – The Rivier University Men's Soccer team suffered yet another setback this afternoon as they fell to visiting Anna Maria College, 2-1 in a Great Northeast Athletic Conference contest at Joanne Merrill Field. The loss sends the Raiders to an overall record of 1-5-1 and a 0-2-0 mark against the conference while the AMCATS improve to 4-5-0 overall, 1-0-0 in the GNAC.

Anna Maria got on the board in the 31st minute as freshman Hezekiah Adeyeye (Woonsocket, R.I.) scored his eighth goal of the season off a pass from classmate Steven Makynen (Uxbridge, Mass.) at 31:28. A little over a minute later (32:38) the AMCATS doubled their lead as Adeyeye assisted on a goal from senior Ryan Todesco (Southwick, Mass.).

The Raiders were able to cut the deficit in half during the 47th minute. Freshman Kelvin Cortez (Meriden, Conn.) placed a shot off a free kick and tucked it into the top corner for his fifth goal of the season at 47:59.

Senior keeper Collin Deyarmin (Raymond, N.H.) made five saves on seven chances for the Raiders while Anna Maria junior keeper Jeffre Donahue (Rockland, Mass.) stopped five of the six shots he faced on net.

Rivier will have a short turnaround as they travel to Henniker, N.H. tomorrow morning for a non-conference contest at New England College. Game time is scheduled for 11am. Anna Maria will enjoy a few days off before they travel to Fisher College for a non-conference affair on Wednesday night beginning at 5:30pm.
