Men's Soccer: Raiders downed at home by Suffolk

(Nashua, N.H.) The Rivier University Men's Soccer team dropped another Great Northeast Athletic Conference contest this evening as Suffolk University took home the 7-0 win. The Raiders are now 2-10-1 overall on the season with a 0-6-1 mark in conference play while the visiting Rams improve to 6-5-1 and 3-4-1 GNAC.

Suffolk exploded for four goals in the opening 45 minutes backed by Jordan Casey. Casey netted two goals; two minutes apart including a penalty kick to give the Rams the lead for good. Sal Perrotto gets credit for the game-winning goal as he scored an unassisted tally in the 22nd minute.

Simon Velez Angel completed the hat-trick with two late goals in the final 15 minutes to highlight the night for Suffolk.

Rivier sophomore keeper Collin Deyarmin (Raymond, N.H.) made 10 saves as he saw 17 on net while Suffolk's Jon Brodeur stopped both shots he faced on net for the clean sheet win.

Both teams will return to conference action on Saturday afternoon. Rivier will travel to New Haven, Connecticut for a date with Albertus Magnus College and the Rams will host Norwich University.
