Men's Soccer: Rivier bested in double-OT to Lasell

(Nashua, N.H.) The Rivier University Men's Soccer team dropped a heart-breaker this evening to Lasell College in double-overtime this evening in a Great Northeast Athletic Conference contest at Raider Field. Rivier falls to 2-6-1 (0-2-1 GNAC) while the Lasers snap a six-game losing streak to improve to 3-9-0 and 2-3-0 in the conference.

The Lasers scored the game's only goal with 5:48 remaining in the final stanza. Sophomore Matt Latsha (Litchfield, N.H.) was able to corral a perfectly placed through ball from junior Connor Wall (East Hampton, Conn.) and chipped it over the outstretched reach of Rivier goalkeeper Collin Deyarmin (Raymond, N.H.).

It was a good evening for Deyarmin as he made nine saves over the 104 minutes. His counterpart, sophomore Matteo Cugno (Medford, Mass.) stopped all seven shots he faced.

Rivier will return to the pitch on Saturday afternoon as they make the trip up to Standish, Maine for another GNAC contest at Saint Joseph's College. Lasell will also be on the road in their next contest at Albertus Magnus.
