Men's Soccer: Houde nets first career goal as Rivier tops Lesley, 2-0

(Nashua, N.H.) Freshman Antonio Houde (Woodsville, N.H.) scored his first career goal as the Rivier University Men's Soccer team took home a 2-0 non-conference victory over visiting Lesley University this evening at Raider Field. The win propels the Raiders' overall record to 2-7-1 while the Lynx stumble to 3-6-1.

The game was a scoreless affair until Houde broke that in the 68th minute. Rivier was awarded a free kick just outside the 18 in which freshman Mike Federico (Milford, N.H.) sent a solid pass to the right foot of Houde who got it past the frozen Lynx goalkeeper.

Rivier would add an insurance goal minutes later when freshman Prince Moye (Lowell, Mass.) found the back of net off a pass from senior Ben Noelk (Georgetown, Mass.). It was Moye's second goal in as many games as the Raiders held on to earn the win.

Sophomore Collin Deyarmin (Raymond, N.H.) recorded his second clean sheet of the season as he made three saves on the evening. Lesley senior keeper James Webb (San Francisco, Calif.) allowed both goals on seven shots in the loss.

The Raiders will return to Great Northeast Athletic Conference action on Wednesday evening as they welcome Lasell College to Raider Field. Game time is set for 5:30pm. Lesley will remain out-of-conference in their next scheduled contest as they travel to Curry College on Tuesday night.
