Senior Saturday: 2020 Men's Lacrosse Senior Class

NASHUA, N.H. – As a part of our "Senior Saturday" series, we would to recognize the efforts of our Spring Seniors, who due to the COVID-19 pandemic never received an opportunity to be acknowledge in their final home games of their careers. Today we are honoring the 2020 Men's Lacrosse Senior Class.

2020 Men's Lacrosse Senior Class

These six Raiders have been instrumental in the success and progress of our Lacrosse program. These seniors graduate posting 29 wins with 14 wins in conference play as well as 3 consecutive GNAC playoff appearances in 3 full seasons. The leadership and legacy of this senior class paves the way and sets many standards for future Raider teams.

Sr. Defenseman from Hanson, MA #11, Joseph Yakavonis
Joe is a 4-year player for the Raiders. He has played in 26 games causing 20 turnovers and collecting 20 groundballs. Joe will graduate with a degree in Business Management. Joe is the Son of Joe Yakavonis Sr.

Sr. Face-Off Midfielder from Lagrangeville, NY, #15 Travis Gusikoff 
Travis is a four-year player for your Rivier University Raiders who amassed a 54% face-off win percentage while collecting 65 career groundballs in 29 games played. Travis will graduate with a degree in Business Management Travis is the son of Lisa & Perry Gusikoff.

Sr. Defense / Attackman from Westfield, MA #35, Drew Fuller
Drew is a 2-year player for the Raiders. He has played in 16 games causing 6 turnovers and collecting 8 groundballs. Drew's roll was changed to attack in his shortened senior season. In 4 games at attack Drew scored 5 goals and assisted on 2 others. Drew will graduate with a degree in Business Management. Drew is the son of Kim & Doug Fuller.

Sr. Defenseman from Dunbarton, NH #42, Jack Nordin
Jack is a 4-year player for the Raiders. He has played in 36 games causing 19 turnovers and collecting 61 groundballs. He also won 4 of 11 career face-offs and scored 2 goals on 6 career shots. Jack has been an All-GNAC Defensive player. Jack will graduate with a degree in Business Management. He is the son of Maria and Dan Nordin.

Sr. Defenseman from Tewksbury MA #34, Captain, Luc Surette
Luc is a 4-year player and was selected as Captain in his Sr. year for the Raiders. He has played in 49 games causing 31 turnovers and collecting 62 groundballs. He also has 2 career points on 1 goal and 1 assist along with 7 career shots. Luc will graduate with a degree in Business Management. Luc is the Son of Lori & Stephan Surette.

Sr. Midfielder from Merrimack, NH, #13, Kyle Newman
Kyle is a 4-year player and has served as team Captain in both his Jr. & Sr. years for the Raiders. He has played in 50 games causing 22 turnovers and collecting 83 groundballs. He has also won 15 of 35 career face-offs and additionally scored 10 goals while assisting on 11 others. Kyle is a two-time recipient of our "Players Choice Award" voted on by the team for the player who most makes them want to be a better teammate. Kyle was accepted into the National College Athlete Honor Society (Chi Alpha Sigma) in his Junior Year and he will graduate as a distinguished member of that same group. Kyle will graduate with a degree in Homeland Security. He is the Son of Heather & Dan Newman.
