Men's Lacrosse: Raiders clip the Falcons in a 18-2 victory.

(Nashua, N.H.) The Rivier University Men's Lacrosse team earns another win against the Falcons of Becker College, 18-2. 

It was all about the Raiders once sophomore Nicker Ackerman (Durham, N.H.) opened the floodgates after scoring within a minute of the game.  The assist was credited to Kyle Newman (Merrimack, N.H.) at the 14:14 mark. Ackerman continued to pace the attack as he slotted two more goals before the end of the quarter.  Others to contribute early on were Jacob Enwright (Dracut, Mass.) and Jeffrey Potter (N. Bennington, Vt.) who registered two goals apiece. Sophomore Corey Hicks (Londonderry, N.H.) also chipped in with a goal.  Before the first buzzer Falcons attacker Matt Guerin (E. Longmeadow, Mass.) netted one of the 4 shots taken in the first.

The Raiders held off the Falcons for the entire second period without allowing any goals.  The home team racked up another six goals.  Veterans Drew Fuller (Westfield, Mass.) and Kyle Newman (Merrimack, N.H.) each contributed two goals.  The period ended 14-1.

In the third period the Raiders took their foot off the gas allowing the Falcons to get on the board again.  Guerin struck again with an unassisted goal.  It was that point in the contest that freshman Lachlan Rodgers (Hoosick Falls, N.Y.) was called upon to close out the match. 

When all was said and done the Raiders chalked up another win at home, 18-2.  The victory lifts the Raiders to a 2-2 record and remain unbeaten at home.  As for the visiting Falcons they drop to an 0-3 overall record.

Starting goalie Ben Fitzpatrick (Stoneham, Mass.) was credited with the win after nabbing 4 of the Falcons shots on goal.  Lachlan also registered 4 saves on the match, logging in a solid 34+ minutes.  

Defensively the Raiders had a fantastic performance converting 16 turnovers and collecting 34 ground balls, eight of which were credited to junior middie Jake DeStefano (Peabody, Mass.).  

Up next, the Raiders will face the Hornets of Northern Vermont University-Lyndon.  The match will be hosted on neutral ground at the New Hampton School in New Hampton, N.H. this Wednesday at 3:30PM.
