Men's Lacrosse: Raiders close season out with a conference win against the Pride, 15-10.

(Nashua, N.H.) The Rivier University Raiders Men's Lacrosse program earned a huge win to close out the regular season schedule.  The win brings the Raiders to and incredible 10-3 overall record and 5-3 within conference play. The loss drops Regis College Pride to 3-8 and 0-8 in league play.

Within the first period of play the Raiders set the attacking pace scoring five goals. Those who contributed were sophomore Dylan McSparren (Warwick, R.I.)  with an unassisted goal.  To no avail the attacker scored again 6 minutes later off a dish from junior Luc Surrette (Tewksbury, Mass.).

Between McSparren's goals the Pride snuck one in.  The culprit was junior middie Brian Wagner (Melrose, Mass.), with an unassisted goal.

Senior Colby Larsen (Windham, N.H.) managed to drop 2 goals before the end of the period. One of which was unassisted, the other was assisted by senior goalkeeper Matt Cloutman.  After making a textbook-save, the man, myth and legend found Larsen down field with less than 8 seconds to go in the period. Larsen found the back of the net with 1 second to spare.

Between Larsen's goals the Pride managed to notch an unassisted goal.

The first period ended 5-2 in favor of the Raiders.

The Raiders went on to dominate the rest of the match.  The Pride never came within a two-point difference of the Raiders.

Others to contribute to the score line were senior Eric Guinasso (Pelham, N.H.) with 3 goals, Senior Rob Fullerton (Wilmington, Mass.) with two, senior Chris Pennie (Wilmington, Mass.) and freshman Nick Ackerman (Durham, N.H.) each tallied one goal for the Raiders as well.  It was Dylan McSparren that led the Raiders attack with 6 goals and an assist.

Up next for the Raiders, the first round of the GNAC playoffs against the AMCats of Anna Maria College (6-11 overall, 3-5 GNAC).  The first round will be hosted by #4 seed Rivier University on Saturday, April 27th at 7:00PM.
