Men's Lacrosse: Raider bury the Badgers, 23-2.

(Nashua, N.H) The Rivier University Raiders Men's Lacrosse program earned a non-conference win over the Badgers of Northern Vermont University-Johnson, 23-2 on Raider field tonight. 

Senior attacker Nick Wolfrom (Pelham, N.H.) earned a game high five goals after six shots fired on frame.

Seniors Colby Larsen (Windham, N.H.) and Rob Fullerton (Wilmington, Mass.) each tallied four goals apiece. 

Senior midfielder Eric Guinasso notched two goals and three assists.  Two of his goals were assisted by freshman Nick Ackerman (Durham, N.H.) and senior Chris Pennie (Wilmington, Mass.)

Ackerman unselfishly facilitated seven goals bringing his assist count to nineteen on the season.

Freshmen Patrick Young (Johnston, R.I.) notched the first two goals of his career today and sophomore Jacob Enwright (Dracut, Mass.) buried his 3rd goal in three games.

Junior middie Travis Guiskoff (Legrangeville, N.Y.) went 22-30 at the center circle and collected eleven ground balls.

Badgers junior goalkeeper Patrick Bell (Charlestown, R.I.) was a trooper tonight.  After 37 minutes of a relentless attack by the Raiders he came out with 8 saves.  His teammate sophomore Jacob Switzer (Nottingham, N.H.) gave him a breather a tallied one save however gave up eleven goals.

Freshman midfielder Noah Holmes (Waldorf, Md.) scored goal number one for the Badgers in the second period the assist was credited to sophomore Kyle Picard (Hyde Park, Vt.).  It was freshman Josh Benak (Bethlehem, Pa.) who closed the scoring out with four minutes to go in the game after receiving  a pass from Noah Holmes.

Three Raiders goalkeepers were showcased tonight.  Senior Matt Cloutman (Peabody, Mass.) clocked out at the end of the first period after pulling down the only shot taken by the badgers.  Sophomore, Jake DeStefano (Peabody, Mass.) relieved the senior of his duties to come in for a solid 20 minutes.  During this period, he made one save and gave one up. With 25 minutes to go, sophomore Ben Fitzpatrick (Stoneham, Mass.) subbed Stefano out and closed the game out.  He made two saves on three shots and gave one up.

The Raiders will travel down to Weston, Massachusetts to face off against conference foes Regis College Pride (3-7 overall, 3-7 GNAC) on Tuesday, April 23rd at 7PM.  Northern Vermont University-Johnson is slated to host the Kangaroos of SUNY Canton (7-6 overall, 4-0 NAC) on Monday at 4:30PM.
