(Nashua, N.H.)  The Rivier University men's lacrosse team was tripped up by Great Northeast Athletic Conference (GNAC) foe Norwich University in an 11-6 loss on a rainy evening at Haynes Family Stadium in Northfield, Vermont.

The Raiders struck first with an unassisted Dylan McSparren (Warwick, R.I.) goal right off a faceoff win, and the 1-0 Rivier lead held for 12 minutes until senior Cody Moore (Canton, N.Y.) notched a man-up goal off a feed from sophomore Payden Masaracchia (Enola, Pa.) to tie things up.

Senior Colby Larsen (Windham, N.H.) opened up the second leg after connecting with senior midfielder Eric Guinasso (Pelham, N.H.).  The Cadets responded with 3 unanswered goals that ended the first half.  The score was 4-2 in favor of the home team.

The third period started the same way the first second period ended with 3 unanswered goals by the hosts.  Until, Larsen buried one off a dish from Chris Pennie in a man-up situation. That was the lone goal in the third for the Raiders.

The final period was all about the "McSparren factor", the sophomore dropped 3 unassisted goal, one of which was a man-down.

Senior Goalkeeper Matt Cloutman (Peabody, Mass.) denied 14 shots while the Cadets GK walked away with 9.

With this loss the Raiders drop to a 7-3 overall and 2-3 within the GNAC. The Raiders will have 3 days to prepare for another conference matchup against the Falcons of Albertus Magnus (2-6 overall, 1-4 GNAC).  The game is slated for Saturday at 3:30 at Raider Field.
