RIvier University Men's Lacrosse: Three Raiders earn GNAC honors in second week of competition.

The Rivier University Athletic Department is proud to announce three student-athletes from the Men's Lacrosse program have been selected for GNAC weekly honors. 

PLAYER OF THE WEEK - Senior Colby Larsen (Windham, N.H.) posted 11 points in a 2-0 week for the Raiders as he scored five goals on only five shots and added an assist in a 20-6 win over Mitchell College on Wednesday. Larsen added five more points on Saturday with three goals and two assists in a 14-3 win over Salem State. On the week, he converted 72.7 percent of his total shots taken into goals with 90.9 percent on goal. 

GOALKEEPER OF THE WEEK - Senior Matt Cloutman (Peabody, Mass.) earned two wins in two starts on the week. He turned away five shots with only one goal allowed in a victory over Mitchell College in a mid-week game. In his Saturday performance, Cloutman collected 15 saves while only conceding 3 goals in a 14-3 win over Salem State. Overall, Cloutman posted an impressive 2.67 Goals Against Average and 83.3% Saves Average on his two-win week while registering 20 saves. 

The senior currently sits atop the GNAC leaderboard for Save Percentage 75.6 and Goals Against average 4.40 after the first two weeks of competition. 

ROOKIE OF THE WEEK - Freshman Nick Ackerman (Durham, N.H.) scored a pair of goals and dished out 2 assists in a 20-6 win for the Raiders over Mitchell College on Wednesday. Nick continued to contribute to the Raiders efforts on the week with another pair of assists in Rivier's win over Salem State 14-3 on Saturday. 

 

In addition another trio of Raiders were considered for GNAC Week 2 Honor Roll.

 

WEEK 2 HONOR ROLL

Senior Rob Fullerton (Wilmington, Mass.) - Posted a 13 point week from his attack position in a 2-0 week for Rivier University. In a 20-6 win over Mitchell College on Wednesday Fullerton collected 9 points with 4 goals and 5 assists. On Saturday vs. Salem State the Sr. continued to score and see the field well with another goal and 3 more assists in a 14-3 win.

Senior Eric Guinasso (Pelham, Mass.) - Posted a 10 point week from his midfield position, scoring 9 goals on 12 shots in 2 wins for the Raiders. In a 20-6 win over Mitchell College on Wednesday Guinasso netted 4 goals. He followed up that performance with a 5 goal 1 assist effort in a 14-3 win over Salem State on Saturday. The Sr. posted a 75% shot percentage on the week.

Sophomore Dylan McSparren (Warwick, R.I.)- Posted 10 points in a 2-0 week for Rivier University. In a 20-6 Wednesday win over Mitchell College McSparren scored 3 and assisted on 3 others. The Sophomore added 2 goals and 2 assist in Rivier's 14-3 win over Salem State on Saturday.
