Men's Lacrosse: Cloutman, Raiders suffer loss at UMass-Dartmouth

(Dartmouth, Mass.) The Rivier University Men's Lacrosse team allowed four first half goals before a late comeback fell just short in the 7-6 non-conference loss at UMass-Dartmouth this afternoon. The game was originally scheduled for yesterday but due to the recent storm that affected the southern New England area. Rivier is now 0-2 to begin the young season and the Corsairs improved to 1-1.

Senior Liam Ryan (Dorchester, Mass.) led the comeback with three goals and freshman Dylan McSparren (Warwick, R.I.) notched his first career goal for the Raiders. Senior Joe Kelland (Watertown, Mass.) and junior Colby Larsen (Windham, N.H.) also chipped in with single goals each. Junior Matt Cloutman (Peabody, Mass.) was the goaltender of record as he made 14 saves and sophomore Jake Marchant (Tewksbury, Mass.) earned his first minute of the season allowing one goal in just a 1:29 of action.

Jordan Torres was the offensive star for UMass-Dartmouth as he netted four goals and added an assist. Donovan Prozinski scored what would be the eventual game winner with 6:34 left to play in the fourth. Kyle Taylor stopped two of eight shots for the win.

The Raiders will remain on the road during the Spring Break week as they travel to Franklin, Mass. for a non-conference affair with Dean College on Tuesday afternoon. Game time is set for 3pm.
