Men's Lacrosse: Rivier tops Salem State, 13-6

(Nashua, N.H.) The Rivier University Men's Lacrosse team topped the visiting Salem State University Vikings in every quarter on their way to a 13-6 non-conference victory at Raider Field on Wednesday evening. The win lifts Rivier above the .500 mark at 5-4 overall while the Vikings stumble to 2-5.

Sophomore sensation Sean Brady (Tewksbury, Mass.) once again led the Rivier offensive attack as he pumped in three goals and assisted on another three for a total of six points. Junior Liam Ryan (Dorchester, Mass.) and freshman Casey Park (Londonderry, N.H.) each registered two goals while sophomore Matt Cloutman (Peabody, Mass.) recorded nine saves on 15 shots for his fifth win of the season.

Salem State saw junior Charlie Bourgeois (Billerica, Mass.) and freshman Corey DaSilva (Townsend, Mass.) each net two goals apiece to led the team while sophomore goalkeeper Chris Schaub (Brewster, Mass.) suffered the loss between the pipes as he made seven saves.

Both teams will be in conference action when they return to the field for their next scheduled contest. The Raiders will host Anna Maria College in 1pm this Saturday afternoon in a Great Northeast Athletic Conference contest at Raider Field. Salem State, meanwhile, will be at Keene State College for a Little East Conference clash in Keene, N.H. also on Saturday afternoon at 1pm.
