Men's Lacrosse handle Maine-Farmington, 19-1

(Nashua, N.H.) The Rivier Men's Lacrosse team defeated the visiting Maine-Farmington Beavers by the score of 19-1 this afternoon at Raider Field. With the win, the Raiders improve their record to 4-0. With the loss, the Beavers fall to 0-1 on the season.

Dominant on both sides of the ball, the Raiders, who were nearly perfect on the day, took the game directly to the Beavers. With no let up, the Raiders, with excellent ball movement and speed, were able to pick apart the Beaver defense en route to 19 goals. Not only was the Raider attack dominant, but the Raider defense was just as impressive. The entire game the Raiders suffocated the Beaver attack. In fact, for much of the first half, the Raiders were on offense. The play of the midfield and defensive unit made it nearly impossible for the Beavers to get into the offensive zone.

How good was the Raider defense? To put it into perspective, the Beavers, regardless of their many efforts, were only able to get off a mere 8 shots the entire game. Clark Plummer (Londonderry, N.H.) was solid in the net saving all but one of the shots put on net by the Beavers. It looked as if Plummer was going to record his first clean sheet of the season until Cameron McAllister (Yarmouth, Me.) put the Beavers on the board with a very late goal set up by Chase Rerrick (South Portland, Me.)

The Raiders had good performances by Kevin Dembkoski (Salem, N.H.) who led the Raiders with an impressive 4 goals and 1 assist. Kyle Graham (Londonderry, N.H.) was the set-up man for the Raiders as he was able to record 4 assists while also adding 2 goals to his name. Tyler Tambouris (Hooksett, N.H.) did not score a goal in this game, but was able to use his passing to make an impact, recording 3 assists. Rob Auer (Salem, N.H.) had an incredible game as he was able to record 2 goals and 5 assists on the afternoon. Joe Kelland (Watertown, Mass.) chipped in with a solid 1 goal and 2 assist game while teammates Cody Lynch (Salem, N.H.), Isaiah Arteaga (West Hartford, Conn.), and William Ryan (Dorchester, Mass.) were each able to add an additional 2 goals to the Raider tally.

Cody Lynch (Salem, N.H.) continued his dominant play on the faceoff. In fact, because of Lynch's efforts (13 of 16 on the faceoff) it made getting into the offensive zone nearly impossible for the Beavers. Overall, the Raiders were too much for the Beavers to handle.

In their next contest, the Rivier Men's Lacrosse team will be on the road to take on Emerson College. This game is scheduled for Tuesday, March 10th at 6:00pm. This is also a non-conference game. The Beavers will next play Sunday, March 8th at Lasell College. This is a non-conference matchup scheduled to begin at 12:00pm.
