Rivier Falls To Lasell 12 -7

Nashua, NH – The Rivier University Raiders (6 – 5, 3 – 4 GNAC) fell 12 – 7 to the visiting Lasell College Lasers (6 – 4, 5 – 0 GNAC) this afternoon in a Great Northeast Athletic Conference match-up.  The Raiders struck first, finding the back of the net just 17 seconds into the game to take a 1 – 0 lead.  The visiting Lasers responded by rattling off five unanswered goals.  Rivier pulled one back to close out the 1^st quarter with a 5 -2 score line.  Lasell used a strong 2^nd quarter to pull ahead 9 – 2 at halftime.  Rivier scored twice in the 3^rd quarter to work their way back into the game at 10 – 4.  In the 4^th quarter the Raiders were able to score three times with Lasell answering with two goals for the final 12 – 7 score. 

The Raiders were led by Cody Lynch (Sophomore - Salem, N.H.) 3 goals, 2 assists, 10 ground balls; Sean Given (Freshman - Londonderry, N.H.) 1 goal, 1 ground ball; Danny Hooper (Senior - Wakefield, R.I.) 2 goals, 1 assist, 1 ground ball; and Tom Johnson (Freshman - Londonderry, N.H.) 1 goal, 1 ground ball.  Clark Plummer (Sophomore - Londonderry, N.H.) made 11 saves in goal for the Raiders. 

Lasell was led by Casey Sullivan (Sophomore – Waterford, CT) 4 goals, 1 assist, 3 ground balls; Aaron Laporte (Junior – Gorham, ME) 3 goals, 2 ground balls; Chuck Graham (Senior – Londonderry, NH) 1 goal; Pat Egan (Sophomore – Glen Rock, NJ) 1 goal, 4 assists, 2 ground balls; Anthony Saitta (Freshmen – Derry, NH) 1 goal, 1 assist, 1 ground ball; Joe Cunning (Junior – Newton, MA) 1 goal; Dylan Gray (Senior – Bayport, NY) 1 goal, 2 ground balls; and Andrew Suh (Sophomore – Colchester, CT) 3 assists, 5 ground balls .  David Walen (Junior – Longmeadow, MA) posted 16 saves for the Lasers. 

The Raiders return to action Wednesday night, April 9^th, when they host Daniel Webster College at 7:00 pm in a GNAC Conference game.  Lasell returns to action on Monday night, April 7^th,  away at Johnson & Wales University in a GNAC Conference match-up at 7:00 pm.
