Men's Basketball: L'Heureux sinks 15 points in setback to Colby-Sawyer

NEW LONDON, N.H. - The Rivier University Men's Basketball team suffered a tough 83-59 defeat this evening to fellow Great Northeast Athletic Conference member, Colby-Sawyer College in a non-conference scheduled contest held inside the David L. Coffin Field House. The loss sends the Raiders to an overall record of 2-6 on the season while the Chargers improve to 4-2 overall.

Senior Josh L'Heureux (Dracut, Mass.) was the leading scorer for Rivier on the night as he shot 5-for-8 from the field, including 5-of-7 from beyond the arc, on his way to 15 points. Classmate Issaiah Chappell (Sunapee, N.H.) was right behind him with 13 points and sophomore Pharoah Davis (Plainville, Mass.) finished with eight points. Freshman Chance Eason-Jones (Manchester, Conn.) pulled down 10 rebounds to lead the team and fellow rookie Kevin Redler (Ellington, Conn.) added seven points in a reserve effort.

Colby-Sawyer saw Omar Boone record a double-double of 17 points and 12 rebounds while both Dana Bean and Scott Lampron each finished in double-figures with 19 ad 12 points, respectively, to pace the Charger offense. Nate Trevino added eight points and 11 rebounds off the bench in the contest as Terrence Harvey Jr. chipped in with seven points.

Rivier will return to action on Saturday afternoon as they close out the first semester of play with a non-conference road contest at Massachusetts College of Liberal Arts. Game time is set for 1pm in North Adams, Mass.
