Men’s Basketball: Raiders bring home road win at Norwich

NORTHFIELD, VT - The Rivier University Men's Basketball team earned a hard fought 70-57 win over Norwich University in a non-conference contest between the two Great Northeast Athletic Conference foes. The win evens out the Raiders overall record at 2-2 while the Cadets stumble to 0-3.

Senior Issaiah Chappell (Sunapee, N.H.) led the way for the Raiders as he scored a game-high 19 points. The veteran guard shot 5- for-10 from the floor, including drilling three 3-pointers while collecting seven rebounds. Sophomore Pharaoh Davis (Plainville, Mass.) added 15 points and freshman Nesta Roberts (Manchester, Conn.) finished a point shy of his first double-double with nine points and a team-high 10 rebounds. Senior Josh L'Heureux (Dracut, Mass.) and freshman Nikolas Pignone (Stoneham, Mass.) each chipped in with 8 points each off the bench for the Raiders in the win.

Norwich's Jesse Davis matched Chappell for the game-high of 19 points and Donovan Lewis Jr. contributed with 11 points and seven rebounds in the loss. Kyle Booth also hit double figures as he finished with 10 points.

Next up for Rivier will be an in-state battle at Plymouth State University on Tuesday night. Game time is set for 7:30pm, following the women's game prior.
