Men's Basketball: Raiders ousted by Lasell in GNAC battle

(Nashua, N.H.) The Rivier University Men's Basketball team suffered a 109-81 setback this evening to visiting Lasell College in a Great Northeast Athletic Conference contest inside the Muldoon Gymnasium. The loss moves the Raiders' overall record to 1-13 on the season with a 0-2 mark in the conference while the Lasers improve to 2-0 in the GNAC and 4-10 overall.

Junior Nate Hale (Nashua, N.H.) scored a team-high 29 points on 10-of-22 shooting from the floor to lead the Raiders with classmate Issaiah Chappell (Sunapee, N.H.) chipping in with 18 points. Senior Isaiah Marks (Brooklyn, N.Y.) came off the bench and netted eight points and six rebounds.

Lasell was powered by junior Stefan Masciarelli (Northbridge, Mass.) who had the game-high of 33 points and sophomore Liam Jacobs (Plainfield, Conn.) added 25 points in a reserve effort by knocking down five three-point attempts. Sophomore Dylan Murray (Williston, Fla.) also had a solid night as he scored 15 points and classmate Kevin Nunez (Dorchester, Mass.) collected a double-double with 14 points and 12 rebounds.

Rivier will travel to New Haven, Conn. for their next schedule matchup on Saturday afternoon against Albertus Magnus College. Game time is set for 3pm. Lasell, meanwhile, will enjoy some time off as they are slated to return to action next Thursday night (1/17) at the University of Saint Joseph (Conn.).
